Double Mount & Sizes

All of our giclee prints are supplied mounted and ready to frame. Depending on which size print you order, your print will be supplied with at least a 3 inches double mount using acid free white core mount board in ivory and gold. We also believe that our customers, where possible, should be offered a small and a large version of their chosen giclee print, this however does not compromise the limited edition print run.

Giclee Prints

It is our aim to provide our customers with the highest quality reproduction prints, remaining as true to the original as possible. We achieve this by using top quality materials and utilising the most modern methods of printing equipment. We use the Giclee method of printing to create the highest quality of print. Each piece is printed on 225gsm high quality museum grade archival art paper.

Our pigmented inks have been tested for light-fastness in conjunction with the papers we use and have met or exceeded grade 6 on the blue wool scale, the test employed by the Fine Art Trade Guild and the present industry standard.

What is Giclee method of printing?

Giclee is a printing method, suited to reproducing all types of fine art and fine art mediums, creating prints that are almost indistinguishable from the original in definition and richness of color. The painting to be printed is digitally alityphotographed producing a large computer file (200Mb). This file is then matched to the original painting and adjusted so that it will produce a true image on the paper or canvas. The word Giclee (pronounced zhee-clay) comes from the French verb "to spray" and refers to the fine stream of inks sprayed to form the image. The effect is similar to an air brush technique, but much finer. More than four million droplets per second are discharged through the printer heads.

Wentworth Wooden Jigsaws

A Wentworth wooden jigsaw puzzle is a premium quality traditional gift. It is cut in the classic Victorian style, in which every piece is a different shape and selected pieces are cut in shapes that may reflect the image. These ‘whimsies’ were so called because Victorian puzzle cutters included the shapes ‘on a whim’ and The Wentworth Wooden Jigsaw Company has revived this old tradition.

Manufactured from high quality wood sourced from forests managed on a sustained yield basis, each puzzle is cut using state of the art computer driven laser technology. Pieces are cut in patterns that challenge, intrigue, frustrate and confuse – not least because the corners are frequently bisected and straight pieces appear in the middle of the puzzle. These are adult puzzles containing small pieces which may be a choking hazard, and therefore not suitable for children under 3 years.
